IDEC Diversity Study

Commissioned by the Interior Design Educators Council (IDEC), this groundbreaking study analyzed the racial and ethnic makeup of IDEC’s membership across higher education interior design programs — including administrators, faculty, and students. The research provided the organization with its first baseline understanding of ethno-racial demographics, positioning IDEC to take a more deliberate, data-driven approach to equity and inclusion initiatives. These insights will guide future programs, policies, and resource allocation to ensure equitable and inclusive opportunities for all members.
